Jack White Denies Control Over Use of ‘Quantam’ Song In Coca-Cola Ad
A lot of buzz has been spreading about Coca-Cola’s new ad using a song that Jack White wrote for the upcoming James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. Some sites bash White for selling out and others claim he is responsible for Coke’s “creative commerical yet.” Nevertheless, he denies having any involvement with the song’s use in the commercial, which “features an instrumental score from the film [Quantum of Solace] composed by Jack White.”
White’s management issued the following statement for the musician:
“Jack White was commissioned by Sony Pictures to write a theme song for the James Bond film ‘Quantum Of Solace’, not for Coca Cola,” the statement says. “Any other use of the song is based on decisions made by others, not by Jack White….We are disappointed that you first heard the song in a co-promotion for Coke Zero, rather than in its entirety.”
The film’s release date will be November 14 in the U.S. and October 31 in the UK. In the meantime, check out the trailer here.
