Why I Wish I Was In Toronto Right Now - Virgin Music Fest ‘08

Now, you might be asking me why I am posting about the Virgin Music Festival in Toronto (yes, I know it’s In Canada) when I never mentioned the one in Baltimore. You might also be wondering why I would bother calling it a music festival when I know full well that Jack Johnson isn’t on the lineup. But then you would have just answered your own question. At just a little more than halfway through the fest, we’ve already got an array YouTube videos to sift through. Check out footage of Foo Fighters playing Learn To Fly . And don’t forget the customary drunk guy who climbs a tree and gets kicked out . With an arguably better lineup than the Baltimore fest, I wouldn’t mind traveling the extra mileage to Toronto. All I can say is, maybe next year you’ll be seeing footage of me up in that tree.
Here are some more videos from the fest to check out:

Foo Fighters Covering The Who
Last week I posted about VH1’s Rock Honors: The Who, footage of the Foo Fighters performing “Bargain” (with Supergrass’ Gaz Coombes on vocals), is now available online over at VH1’s site.
Dave Grohl appears to be rocking out on some strange electric guitar…I think it might be a Gibson. If anyone reading this knows, please leave a comment and enlighten me as I’m mainly a Fender guy.
The event took place last Saturday at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion and also featured Pearl Jam, The Flaming Lips, Incubus and Tenacious D as well as The Who themselves. The telecast premieres tomorrow.

Led Zeppelin and The Foo Fighters?
After a week of being away I’m back and there has been a ton of news and tidbits to report on…which I will try to catch up on this week. Here’s what I was checking out today though…
The Foo Fighters were joined by Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and Jon Paul Jones last Saturday, (June 7th) at Wembley Stadium in London.
“Drummer Taylor Hawkins took the microphone for the former, while frontman Dave Grohl sang the latter. Grohl, a lifelong Zeppelin fanatic who was on hand for the group’s one-off reunion last December in London, told the crowd Satruday’s experience constituted “the greatest day of my entire life.”
