Iggy & The Stooges Gear Stolen

Veteran rockers Iggy and The Stooges have had all of their gear stolen yesterday (August 4th) in Montreal, just outside the Embassy Suites.

The band’s gear was parked outside in a truck, and the entire truck with all the gear was stolen somewhere between 6:30 and 7:30am. Inside was an insane amount of gear worth tens of thousands of dollars if not more. Everything from electric guitars, guitar amps, drum sets, effects pedals and accessories were inside the truck.

For more information and a full list of the gear you can go here. This really sucks, I hope for the bands sake they get it all back, some very serious pieces of equipment have been lost. In the meantime, they will be playing the remainder of their shows on rented and/or new gear.

Shit! I’d be beyond pissed, esp. when it comes to vintage pieces that are irreplaceable.

Wow that takes some real gall to steal from Iggy Pop. That man has been going shirtless for three decades, I’m sure he’s pretty dangerous in a fight.

4 Signature Rickenbacker Stolen From Peter Buck After Finland Show — Guitar Bassman { 09.11.08 at 11:49 am }

[...] Iggy isn’t the only rockstar that someone would have the nerve to burgle. Someone snatched Peter Buck’s guitar from the stage immediately after a show in Finland on Wednesday. And considering it is the one he would pick if he could only play a single guitar for the rest of his life, it’s no wonder they are offering a reward, no questions asked, for his signature Rickenbacker 360 JetGlo.
