The Melvins Tour & Interview

Buzz Osborne

The Melvins are gearing up to tour this summer, in support of their new Ipecac Records album “Nude With Boots.” The band is once again paired with Big Business for the album and tour and they will also open each show on the tour separately.

I came across a pretty good interview with Buzz Osborne, lead singer/guitarist and songwriter of The Melvins. In it, he discusses some of his influences when making “Nude With Boots” and his general view of the band’s recorded output and history.

You can check it out here…

I’ve been listening to the Melvins since Ozma came out (I’m 35 and was pretty young when first turned-on to them). They’ve always been a solid source of listening escape as well as inspiration. I’m amazed at their longevity and the utter brilliance of their last two albums. I listened to “Senile Animal” and “Nude with Boots” in a row this morning and just shook my head afterwards. These are the best two albums of their career as well as the best two albums I’ve listened to in the last five years.

The interview was fun. It’s great to hear that Buzz is in good spirits and has high hopes for the future. I hope he and Dale and whoever else they choose to play with keep it up until they fall over onstage.

I totally agree, they are definitely one of my favorite bands. Always consistently good without doing the same thing over and over again. Just saw them live here in LA last month, was amazing.
